{"product_id":"little-row-of-seaside-houses-embroidery-kit","title":"Little Row of Seaside Houses Embroidery Kit","description":"\u003cp\u003eThis design is inspired by the almost doll-like houses of the fishing villages of Cornwall, in the far Southwest of the UK, and by my vision of “Fiddlers’ Green” – the legendary paradise for sailors who survived more than fifty years at sea, where there is perpetual mirth, dancing and fiddle-playing.  As a child, I loved miniature things and I remember on holiday making a whole village from postcards which could be cut out and made up into tiny cottages and castles.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e With the Little Row of Houses, I tried to capture a little of this miniature world, while also providing a sampler of stitches ideal for depicting buildings in raised embroidery. I found the idea of using whipped needlelace in silk gimp to represent water in a single 17\u003csup\u003eth\u003c\/sup\u003e century embroidery, and have not found it recorded anywhere else.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  Other stitches are my own idea, and use contemporary materials.  The buildings use pleated plate over board, working counted slips on evenweave fabric, silk shading over felt padding, couched silk gimp and embellishment with purls and spangles.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  The hillocks use couched silk gimps, silk-wrapped purl and pearl purl, with softer silk chenille. The design is worked on fine cotton and is designed to be cut out to form a 3D panel in its own right.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  This can be mounted into a \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/jennyadin-christieembroidery.com\/product\/picture-frames-for-little-row-of-seaside-houses\"\u003ebox frame\u003c\/a\u003e with the addition of a print of \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/jennyadin-christieembroidery.com\/product\/print-of-sketch-background-for-little-row-of-seaside-houses\"\u003emy pencil sketch\u003c\/a\u003e suggesting waves and smoke from the chimneys.  Or you may wish to choose your own method of display instead.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Jenny Adin-Christie","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":54256709337430,"sku":"KITLITTLEHOUSES","price":112.5,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1037\/5318\/7670\/files\/DSC_3834p.jpg?v=1791281898","url":"https:\/\/jennyadin-christieembroidery.com\/products\/little-row-of-seaside-houses-embroidery-kit","provider":"Jenny Adin-Christie Embroidery","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
