The design uses a broad range of beautiful threads and fabrics combining wools and silks with metallics and beads.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The bird’s body is 3D printed by my cousin, with the addition of bronze legs and sterling silver beak cast from my wax carvings in Hatton Garden in London, and tiny glass eyes made in Wales, all set in place by my father. The design uses an eclectic mix of historically-inspired stitches and new ideas.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The neck is created using metallic corded needlelace. The body is covered using English wool baize and tweed embellished with silk gimp and spangles.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The tail is detachable, revealing storage for needles in wool flannel beneath.
