Trestles are designed to support a slate frame, and are a fabulous way to sit comfortably when working on embroidery over long periods.
These are designed and made by my cabinet maker Peter Blomfield, in the heart of Devon.
They form a beautiful piece of furniture to have in your home, as well as being a functional item. Peter achieves a beautiful finish on the solid beech wood used for these pieces.
The trestles have adjustable arms which allow you to set them at varied heights and angles to suit your posture.
The trestles are delivered ‘flat pack’ and are easy to put together. This means that they can also be taken down if at any point you wish to pack them away.
Trestles can be used with an 18″ or 24″ slate frame. If using a smaller frame, you will need to order the optional wooden slats. These sit across the trestles to support a smaller frame. They can be secured using ratchet style DIY clamps if required.
The optional tray sits across between the bars at knee level and is useful for storing books, threads, equipment etc.
The price includes a bespoke cardboard box, built to fit the flat pack trestles, to ensure safe shipping.

Delivery time:
In order to make trestle production viable and economical, we make in batches of 10. We therefore collect 10 orders before proceeding to make. The waiting time can therefore be around 3-4months. Please CONTACT US for the latest wait time when placing your order.
