Honesty or Eryngium Box Frame

These picture frames are made specifically to fit my designs by my colleague and professional picture framer, Lyn Hall of ‘Fringe Arts’.  They allow you to enjoy mounting and framing your work at home without the expense of using a professional framer.

They include: ‘TruVue’ conservation grade clear glass with 99% UV protection, conservation grade mount board ready to mount your work, conservation grade mount board spacers to lift the glass from the work and fittings/hanging cord. Available in a choice of 2 colours for this design

1. Natural wax finish (on Obeche wood, a warm pale wood which has the appearance of beech
2. Limed wax finish (on Obeche wood, provides a pale, whitewashed, shabby chic, seaside look

The images shown provide as accurate an impression as possible of the colour and texture of the wood/s from which these items are made. However, please be aware that each item will be unique in its grain and patterning. Honesty/Eryngium: These special frames have been created to display the Honesty and Eryngium designs which are worked on silk organza.

The contain two equally-sized window mounts of foam core board hidden beneath the decorative ivory double window mount. The sheer embroidery is trapped and mounted between these two foam core windows whilst still taut in the embroidery hoop.

This is a very effective way to instantly mount the work without releasing the frame beforehand and causing distortion. Once mounted, the hoop is removed, the excess fabric trimmed and the work placed neatly into the frame with a blue back board behind.

The foam core windows also lift the work away from the back board, giving the piece a feeling of being suspended over a void and therefore creating a lovely sense of depth. Full instructions on how to frame in this way are provided.
