Oliver Twist Hand-Dyed Cotton Threads - Earthy Shades

This is one of my favourite hand-dyed threads, produced by Jean Oliver of ‘Oliver Twists’ based in beautiful Northumberland in the north east of England. It is a 16/2 weight thread of combed, mercerised Egyptian cotton with a beautiful sheen.

It is very close to the weight of perle no. 12. The colours are stunning and change frequently along their length producing fabulous shaded effects whilst stitching.

I love this thread for surface embroidery and for needlelace. It is also suitable for techniques such as cross stitch, Sashiko, canvaswork, Hardanger, braiding and tassel making.
