This wonderful silk thread from Au Ver à Soie comes in 5 metre skeins of 7 strands, in a palette of 623 colours. This silk is loosely plied and can be split easily. It is made of the best quality spun silk (called straus) which gives it an unrivalled regularity, lustre and softness, yet it also resists abrasion and shredding. It is highly versatile and a joy to work with for needle painting, surface embroidery, stumpwork, counted work and many other applications.
