Embroidered Gloves for the Lord Chief Justice (hand embroidery in silk and metal threads on white kid leather)

I was asked to work these ceremonial gloves which were a gift to Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd, Lord Chief Justice 2013-17, from the Worshipful Company of Glovers.

The Royal Arms is minutely worked in silk and tiny metal threads over sculptured padding on a base of white kid leather. The 2cm high unicorn and lion each use over 125 individually cut and stitched pieces of tubular smooth ‘purl’. The gloves were constructed by Chester Jefferies of Dorset.
