Description

This is one of my favourite hand-dyed threads, produced by Jean Oliver of ‘Oliver Twists’ based in beautiful Northumberland in the north east of England.

It is a 16/2 weight thread of combed, mercerised Egyptian cotton with a beautiful sheen. It is very close to the weight of perle no. 12. The colours are stunning and change frequently along their length producing fabulous shaded effects whilst stitching.

I love this thread for surface embroidery and for needlelace. It is also suitable for techniques such as cross stitch, Sashiko, canvaswork, Hardanger, braiding and tassel making. It comes in 45m skeins.

Please be aware that colours may vary from those pictured due to the hand-dyed nature of the thread. Threads are thoroughly rinsed and scoured after dying but colourfastness cannot be guaranteed.
